About this Speaker

As a former teacher librarian, district administrator, and 2012 Washington State Teacher of the Year, Mark Ray continues leading, teaching, and supporting school librarians at the national and regional level. He has helped lead the Future Ready Librarians initiative since 2016 and is currently part of the IMLS-funded SLIDE research project examining national school library staffing. In Washington State, he teaches in the teacher librarian certification program at Antioch University Seattle and has led grants focused on instructional partnership, instructional technology, media literacy, and educator professional learning. In addition to his 2016 TEDx Talk, he has presented internationally and has written for a dozen professional publications and blogs.
